Given up, I now go directly to A&E rather than waste my time trying to get an appointment
You can not get an afternoon appointment unless you call back at 2pm and when you get through you are met with unhelpful staff who ask if it's a medical emergency..... surely if it was then I would be at the hospital not calling my DRs, if you're unsure they will not give an appointment.
You get 10minutes if you're lucky and if you mention more than one symptom you're told to book a second appointment that you can never get.
I was laughed at when asked to be referred for tests and called a liar by a locum DR
The receptionist staff sat on this referral from November until Feb before actually doing anything with it !!
takes absolutely ages to get through to reception when calling first thing in the morning. they really need a queueing system as you have to keep hanging up and re-dialling. when you do finally get through to somoene you are greeted by a receptionist that has absolutely no people skills (today was not just a one off, its the same every time i call). she is in completely the wrong job.
The receptionists never answer the phone. I tried calling six times for two days with no answer. On a separate occasion I received a call from a receptionist who said I needed to speak to a doctor and we agreed a time. The doctor did ring that day so I called the surgery the next day. They said I was never put on the call back list. A doctor finally called three days later and asked me why he was calling me!!! Still non the wiser.
